The Interim Report of the 4th Volunteer Group (12/09/10)
Date.
12/09/10
The 4th volunteer group of the students delegated to the disaster area (consisting of 32 students and 4 teachers and staff) are doing supporting activities from September 8th to 10th basing on Tono Magokoro Net in Tono City, Iwate Pref.
On the first day, they helped fertilizing the land for the next year at "Magokoro Farm", on the second day, they removed rubble from houses in Kamaishi City. Although one and a half years have passed since the earthquake and tsunami, the students deeply felt that the volunteer help is still needed in many places. However, the number of volunteers is unfortunately getting small, so even one extra volunteer makes a difference. OIU should continue to send students to the disaster area.
